So I think it would be cool to every so often select past entries from my journal and post them here. This one is from June 22, 2014; the day after our wedding. Enjoy.
Right now we are about 20,000′ in the air and making our descent into Jamaica. Kelly – MY WIFE – and I are super excited for our honeymoon.
Yesterday was perfect in every way. My bride, her dress, the anticipation, the people, the service, the pictures, the limo, and the reception. Everything. Just perfect.
Hanging out with my groomsmen and my father before the wedding is something I will never forget. They were supportive, fun and kept busting my balls, which helped to keep me loose. I was actually not as nervous as I expected to be.
I have never felt what I felt that afternoon. It was a crazy rush. My fingers were tingling as I waited for Kelly. She looked like a princess. The prettiest girl I have ever seen. I loved her dress.
Once I was up at the alter with her I couldn’t stop smiling and laughing. The feeling was crazy.
The service was fast but beautiful and our kiss was the best. It meant so much to have all of our loved ones with us, watching, crying and cheering us on. Everybody complimented my writing in the program, which was awesome. I was really excited about that, not gonna lie.
Pictures and the limo were fun. All of a sudden everyone was trashed, it was great. We had a blast during that time. After having fun in the limo we made our introductions and started to party. The food was great, the decor amazing and Phil Turk was a great touch.
Kelly and her Mom did a beautiful job. The hall looked wonderful.
Our first dance was magical. I’ll never forget it. “Just too marvelous, too marvelous for words!”
Navid and Alex stole the show with their speeches. “Fornication… for an occasion like this…” Lol! Honestly the best wedding speeches I have ever heard. They did great throughout the whole process and we were so lucky to have them.
Of course, our parents were and are AMAZING. We could not have done it without them. Jay’s speech was great. Funny but also from the bottom of his heart. I know he wishes us the best and he loves the heck out of his little girl.
Donny, Lisa and Wes did a great job of keeping us on track and keeping the party moving. Every vendor we worked with were consummate professionals.
Once the dance floor opened, it was full the entire night. People got down.
Our parent dances were perfect too. I have been looking forward to dancing to ‘Have I told you lately?’ for as long as I can remember. I love my Madre. My dance with Susan was emotional and fun. She loves us so much. Kelly’s dance with her father was very special to watch. It’s a pretty fantastic thing. Also, my father and I spent a lot of time together that day and leading up to the wedding, which meant the world to me.
We partied our asses off. We both had great moments with our parents and close friends and family. I was really blown away by how many compliments we received. People are telling is it was their favorite wedding ever, which means the world to us. My bosses and work colleagues had a blast which also means a lot.
Everybody was dancing so hard, I don’t think Kelly left the dance floor once. She had so much fun and was just in ecstasy all night. I can’t help but feel so happy and thankful for that. I wanted the day to be perfect for her in the worst way. Honestly, it was.
Watching Kel and the girls dance to the ‘Wobble’ and Chas, Nick, Uncle Nick and my family dance to ‘It’s raining men’ will always be a great memory. They crack me up. Sara, Austin, Tyler and Jalil had a blast. Austin was turnt. I loved how much fun Sara had. It makes me smile.
Thank you to all of our family and friends for the love they constantly show us. We love you more than you know.
All-in-all we couldn’t have asked for a more perfect wedding and I couldn’t ask for a more perfect bride.
I love my wife so much and I can’t wait to start our married life together.
